An Addition to the Reeh Family

Cody and I have been married for almost four months and we decided that living alone is super lonely. So, on November 1, 2008 I did the unforeseen! That's right; I convinced Cody to let me get a cat. The two of us hopped into his pick up truck and drove to Pets Mart where an adoption event was going on. We parked and walked in and of course my eyes lit up. "Ahh! I really want this one," I say to every cat in a cage at Pets Mart. Cody was beginning to think that I wanted to take them all home. Well, he was right, but I knew I could never get away with that. So, I used my girly instinct and decided to ask him which cat he liked. Together we decided on a black four week old kitten. I filled out the adoption papers, turned them in, and then waited anxiously for our interview.

It didn't go so well!!! To say the least the woman running the adoption event was a total witch. She told Cody and I that unless we have another pet at home there was no way we were going home today with a kitten. I stormed out of the pet store and began crying like a three year old. Frustrated, Cody, begins to formulate as many lies he can think of to convince this woman that we have another pet at home.

Not able to outwit Curela, Cody manages to calm me down and makes me re-enter Pets Mart, but this time looking at the grown cats. Sure enough crammed in small, cold cages I see before me ten to fifteen thirty pound grown cats. Cody begins rubbing his fingers along the caged doors, looking for any signs of affection from these poor deprived fat cats. And that's how he found Claire. Claire is our three year old, fifteen pound cat. She is the newest additon to our family and we look forward to spending many long years with our furry child.
