We moved on January 8th to Van Metre Apartments and quickly got settled in. Cody and I love it out here. Ashbrun is much more rural than Centreville and it reminds us a little of the hill country. Sometimes when I am driving home from work I see a beaver playing along the side of the road. There are even street signs that warn drivers of deer crossing. We have yet to see one though. Our apartment is cozy and overlooks a nature preserve. Below are photographs of our new home.
This is our living room! Our theme is French Country. I like to use a variety of patterns in one
room. I particularly love animal print and twall.
This is a picture of our kitchen. I spend a lot of my time in this room. Last week I cooked my first recipe from the Julia Child Cookbook. I prepared asparagus as a side dish for a lemon chicken recipe that I had. The asparagus turned out wonderfully. This week I am going to try and prepare another recipe from Julie Child.
The kitchen overlooks our dinning room. I found a table I really like and am looking forward to purchasing soon. I will post pictures once I have finished decorating.
Here is our bedroom. I still have quite a bit of work to do in here. Cody and I are going to start thrift shopping. I am looking for a black iron bed frame and an antique mirror.
Our apartment also has a built in desk located across from the kitchen. Cody and I turned it into an office space. Once I have finished organizing the desk I will submit more photographs.
In addition to the wonderful move, Cody and I would like to announce some great news. This week Cody was selected for a management position for Tradesman International! I am so excited about Cody's new job. They are sending Cody to Richmond, Va (approximately 2 hours away) for a week of training. All expenses will be paid for by his new company. They are even paying for his boarding for the week. I wish I did not have school so I could join him. I love staying in hotels.
